The Story

Built from the ground up.
Literally.

Born in Texas and raised in Anchorage, Alaska by a U.S. Navy Captain, Sean Pruitt learned discipline early. By age ten he was selling sandbags roadside; by twelve he had launched his first lawn-care business; on the ice he played alongside future NHL star Scott Gomez.

At sixteen, Sean took roughly $5,000 saved from Alaska's Permanent Fund oil dividends and invested it in a working oil well in Melvin, Texas. He worked a ranch by day — tractors, fencing, cattle — and spent his evenings at the rig site with the roughnecks, watching the geologists work and learning the industry from the dirt up.

That obsession never left. After earning a degree in Computer Information Systems, he rose to Vice President at both TransCoastal Partners and Trinity Equity Partners in Dallas — then, in 2007, founded his own firm: Kingdom Exploration LLC.

How He Finds Oil

Nobody gets paid to say no.
So he built a machine that does.

Thirty years in this business taught Sean how a typical ground-floor oil deal is born. An operator has a lease — maybe it's the only acreage he could get, maybe it's expiring and it's drill-or-lose-it. A geologist is hired to evaluate it. And everyone at that table gets paid when the well gets drilled — nobody gets paid to say no. The geologist who says "pass" too often stops getting hired, and the question quietly shifts from should this well be drilled? to how do we justify drilling it?

There's a subtler problem underneath it: a single deal, looked at by itself, always looks like the best deal you've ever seen — because it's the only deal you've seen. The most expensive question in oil is the one most sponsors can't answer: compared to what?

Sean's answer was to build the comparison himself. Kingdom Scout™ is a due-diligence engine he designed and engineered from the ground up — it unifies the official well records of every producing state into a single intelligence layer: millions of wellbores with history back to 1864, including every dry hole; essentially every disclosed frac job in America; tested production rates; drilling permits; operator track records; and a daily feed of who is quietly buying and selling wells. Every morning it re-screens the country and grades every actively-drilled U.S. county A through F.

The grading is brutal on purpose. Of 220 active counties, only 39 earn an A. After the snag filters hunt for deal-killers — breakevens that need $85 oil, hostile regulators, a county locked up by a single operator, drilling activity quietly dying — 25 remain. And a qualified county is merely where Sean starts looking: a specific deal must then survive its own economics against the entire national ranking.

Almost everything the engine sees, it rejects. That is the point.

The proof it works: Sean fed the engine a live prospect's actual drilling budget and lease terms, and — working from public state filings alone — it reproduced a licensed petroleum engineer's independent reserve estimate within 3 percent, plus the breakeven oil price to the dollar. When the machine and the engineer agree without ever talking to each other, that's when he picks up the phone.
